10th anniversary: Family holds prayer session in honour of ex- Lagos commissioner, Adeniji-Adele

Dignitaries from across Lagos State and beyond are expected to gather tomorrow, Sunday, May 10, 2026 at Idi Omo Street, Isa Eko, Lagos Island by 2pm prompt for prayer session in honour of Prince Ademola Adebayo Adisa Adeniji-Adele who died 10 years ago.

The Late Adeniji-Adele, a prominent politician was a former Lagos State Commissioner for Youths, Sports and Social Development between 2007 and 2011 under the administration of the Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN).

In addition, he was the former Chairman of Lagos Island Local Government, between 1991 and 1993, and was most loved by the people of the local government.

This was made known by the family in a release made available to newsmen, saying the theme of the event is: "Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Prince of Hope - 10 years on."

The Adele Family has equally scheduled a Colloquium to be held in honour of the former commissioner, who died on Thursday, May 5, 2016 in far away India.

According to the release, the Colloquium, Themed: "Governance in Transition: Sustaining the Tradition of Service through Leadership, Reform, Mentorship, Challenges in Governance and Grassroots Engagement," with sub- themed: "Navigating Growth, Preserving Legacy, Inspiring the Next Generation" will hold on Thursday, 14th May 2026 at the Marquee, LTV 8, Ikeja, Lagos by 10am prompt.

The Keynote Speaker is Dr. Muiz Banire (SAN), the Founder/Principal Partner of MA Banire and Associates and also a former Commissioner for Environment in Lagos State.
