Nigeria stands today at a critical stage in its democratic and developmental journey. The nation requires visionary, LP courageous, experienced, and people-oriented leadership capable of accelerating economic growth, strengthening institutions, deepening national unity, and repositioning the country for sustainable prosperity. It is within this context that many patriotic Nigerians continue to express strong support for the emergence of Seyi Makinde as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2027.

The proposed Strategic Road Map for Accelerated National Development, 2027–2031 aligns closely with the leadership philosophy, governance style, and practical achievements already demonstrated by Governor Seyi Makinde in both the private sector and public service.

Before entering politics, Engr. Seyi Makinde built a highly successful career in engineering, oil and gas services, business development, and entrepreneurship through the establishment of the Makon Group Limited and its subsidiaries, including Makon Engineering and Technical Services Limited (METS), Makon Power Systems Limited, and Energy Traders and Technical Services Limited. He founded Makon Engineering in 1997 at the age of 29 after acquiring years of practical experience with multinational oil and gas firms, including Shell Petroleum Development Company and Rebold International Limited.

As a private-sector player, Governor Makinde demonstrated managerial competence, innovation, discipline, and the ability to create opportunities through enterprise and investment. Under his leadership, the Makon Group grew into a major indigenous engineering and energy conglomerate operating within Nigeria’s oil and gas sector. Publicly available records associated with his asset declaration in 2019 indicated that his companies and investments were valued at over ₦48 billion, reflecting years of productive enterprise, employment generation, and industrial participation before public office.

His engineering background and international professional exposure spanning Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and the United States, including executive training at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology equipped him with deep understanding of economic productivity, infrastructure management, technological innovation, and strategic planning qualities essential for national leadership in a developing economy like Nigeria.

Since becoming Governor of Oyo State in 2019, Governor Makinde has established himself as one of Nigeria’s most impactful and reform-driven leaders. Through the implementation of the Omituntun Agenda, his administration has delivered visible progress across multiple sectors, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, transportation, energy, security, and economic expansion.

Under his leadership, Oyo State has witnessed unprecedented infrastructural renewal, including hundreds of kilometers of strategic road construction and rehabilitation aimed at opening up economic corridors and stimulating commerce across Ibadan, Ogbomoso, Oke-Ogun, Ibarapa, and Oyo zones. His administration successfully completed major projects, including bus terminals, interchanges, township roads, and rural access roads that have significantly improved transportation and economic activities.

The Makinde administration has also strengthened public institutions, maintained industrial harmony, ensured prompt payment of salaries and pensions, improved internally generated revenue, and restored investor confidence in Oyo State. His prudent management style has enabled the state to sustain capital development while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

In education and healthcare, the administration has pursued reforms that prioritize accessibility, quality, and institutional sustainability. Thousands of teachers and healthcare personnel have been recruited to strengthen service delivery, while investments in schools and health institutions continue to improve human capital development.

Governor Makinde has equally demonstrated visionary leadership in the energy sector through electricity market reforms, independent power initiatives, and institutional innovations designed to improve energy access and economic productivity. Under his administration, Oyo State became one of the leading states positioning itself to operationalize subnational electricity regulation following the enactment of the Electricity Act 2023.

His administration has further prioritized agribusiness development, security enhancement, youth empowerment, and support for small and medium-scale enterprises. Through strategic governance, Oyo State has emerged as one of the fastest-growing subnational economies in Nigeria.

Governor Makinde’s leadership has consistently reflected prudence, transparency, inclusiveness, and accountability. His calm disposition, consultative governance style, and commitment to democratic principles have further endeared him to many Nigerians across political, ethnic, and religious divides.

The Strategic Road Map for Accelerated National Development, 2027–2031 envisions a Nigeria driven by economic diversification, stable power supply, modern infrastructure, technological advancement, food security, youth empowerment, industrial growth, educational transformation, and institutional efficiency. These are areas where Governor Seyi Makinde has already demonstrated practical leadership capacity and measurable results at the subnational level.

Nigeria requires a President with proven administrative competence, private-sector understanding, economic vision, and the courage to take bold but necessary decisions in the national interest. The experiences and achievements of Engr. Seyi Makinde clearly position him as a credible leader capable of guiding Nigeria toward accelerated national development and sustainable progress.

As Nigerians continue to seek purposeful leadership for the future, the growing national support for Governor Seyi Makinde reflects public confidence in his ability to lead Nigeria into a new era of stability, prosperity, unity, and inclusive growth.

The time has come for tested leadership, practical governance, and a clear developmental vision for Nigeria. Engr. Seyi Makinde represents that vision.
