Just In: 2027: Peter Obi, Kwankwaso officially join NDC, dump ADC

Former Labour Party (LP) Presidential Candidate in the 2023 General Elections, Mr. Peter Obi, and his New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) counterpart, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, on Sunday, formally defected to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

The duo joined the NDC after Obi earlier on Sunday dumped the African Democratic Congress (ADC), citing worsening internal crises, external interference and growing hostility within party structures.

Obi, a former governor of Anambra State and Kwankwaso, who is former governor of Kano State, made their decisions with the aim to paving way for their aspirations for 2027 Presidency.

Earlier, they were received by the National Leader of the NDC and former governor of Bayelsa State, Henry Seriake Dickson and its National Chairman, Moses Cleopas, at the party’s headquarters in Abuja.

Dickson and Cleopas, welcoming the duo of Obi and Kwankwaso, described the new development as a growing wave of confidence in the NDC nationwide.
