A leading governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2027 General Elections, Mr Adelaja Adeoye, has promised to fix the multi-dimensional socio-economic challenges in Lagos State, saying that he would end the cycle of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) governance failures in the state if given the mandate to serve.
Adeoye made this pledge on Wednesday in a statement, copy of which was made available to newsmen, saying that Lagosians deserved better than what APC was offering as he vowed to dislodge the ruling party and set the state on the path of prosperity.
"We are on a rescue mission because successive APC governments have failed the good people of Lagos. I will end the cycle of APC failures if given the mandate.
"Lagos deserves better than the infrastructural deficit, the dysfunctional health system, the poor standards in public schools, extortions by public officials, lack of transparency in procurement processes, limited opportunities and housing crisis.
"We will build a NEW LAGOS — a state positioned for shared prosperity and true inclusiveness for every resident.
"A Lagos where unity prevails, and every hardworking man and woman, regardless of their state of origin, can pursue legitimate business and achieve success without barriers or discrimination," he stated.
"We will break the oligarchy, the cabals and will stop all the people that have held the state by the jugular. We will end recycle of failed politicians and inject new blood into governance for the prosperity of all," he added.
According to him, Lagos has been run like a family business, not a public service, alleging that revenue is treated like inheritance while power is treated like a birthright and, therefore, time to give power to people and build a state everyone would be proud of.
"This is not a contest of slogans. It’s a contest of systems. The ruling party has for decades failed to fix drainage, power, and schools. They built toll gates instead of train lines. They built excuses instead of industries.
"Lagos doesn’t need another caretaker of failure. It needs a terminator of excuses. That’s the mandate I’m seeking. I promise a better Lagos, a state where everything works," he said.
Speaking further, Adeoye said he would promote transparency and accountability in governance and stop fraudulent deals through his LAG-RESET Agenda, assuring that he would, within 100 days, broadcast a forensic review of Lagos debt, contracts, and concessions and stop all fraudulent deals.

On his plans for a better Lagos, the PDP governorship aspirant promised to establish 24-hour economic zones across the state with guaranteed power, security, and tax holidays for factories, not friends.
Adeoye assured that challenges of electricity supply, transportation, health and other critical sectors would be holistically addressed with him as governor, saying that he would boost power generation and distribution through a comprehensive Independent Power Project (IPP) initiative, inclusive of Renewable Energy farm by establishing Independent Power Plants across all five divisions of Lagos State.
According to him, the projects will be supported by a dedicated state-owned power grid to ensure reliable and stable electricity supply.
"Priority in power distribution will be given to business clusters, industrial zones, and residential areas, while subsidy will be given to low income clusters, with the goal of significantly boosting productivity, improving quality of life, and stimulating job creation across the state," he said.
On social services and emergency response, Adeoye pledged to strengthen emergency response and public safety by constructing fully equipped Emergency Response Centres in all 20 Local Government Areas of the state.
According to him, each centre will house a fire service station, medical emergency stations and other essential emergency utilities, adding: "These centres will enable rapid response to emergencies, protect lives and property, and enhance the overall safety and security of residents in every part of the state."
On housing, Adeoye as an expert in real estate development, said he would build affordable mass housing in all the divisions of Lagos, while also making a deliberate effort to re-integrate indigenous people of Lagos who are economically disadvantaged, and have moved out of Lagos to suburbs, outskirts back to Lagos metropolis and empower them through job offer, proper placement.
