Vice President Kashim Shettima on Monday formally received Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri into the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring him as the party’s leader in Adamawa State.

Vice President Shettima made this declaration at a high-profile reception, held at the Mahmud Ribadu Square in Yola, which drew a large crowd of party stakeholders, including several governors, ministers, lawmakers, and supporters from within and outside the state.

Speaking as Special Guest of Honour, Shettima described Fintiri’s defection as a major political boost for the ruling APC, noting that it would strengthen the party’s structure ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

The vice president added that the move aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Governor Fintiri, in his remark, expressed appreciation to the Vice President Shettima and party leaders for the reception, and equally thanked the people of Adamawa for their continued support.

Fintiri pledged to remain committed to delivering good governance until the end of his tenure on May 29, 2027.

He also urged citizens to back President Tinubu’s re-election bid, describing it as vital for national development.

Goodwill messages were delivered by key figures, including Deputy Senate President, Hon. Barau Jibrin and APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, both of whom welcomed Fintiri into APC.
