Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, on Tuesday, declared a one-week Easter holiday for all public and civil servants in the state.

The week-long holiday was contained in a circular signed by the Permanent Secretary, General Services, Mr Godwin Tighil, on behalf of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barr. Deborah Aber Serumun and made available to newsmen in Makurdi, the state capital.

According to the circular, the holiday would take effect on 31st March by 1pm, and work would resume April 8.
