Activist lauds James Faleke for executing 'father and mother' of all empowerments for constituents

Human rights and opposition activist, Comrade Mark Adebayo, has greatly commended Hon. James Faleke representing Ikeja Federal Constituency of Lagos State in the House of Representatives for what he described as "a father and mother of all empowerments" executed for his constituents across board.

Adebayo gave this kudos on Tuesday while speaking with newsmen shortly after an event hosted by Civil Society Roundtable in Abuja, saying that, irrespective of different political affiliations, a public official deserves to be acknowledged and encouraged to do more when he discharges the responsibilities demanded of his office so creditably.

According to him, politics aside, what was witnessed on Monday in Lagos authoritatively qualifies as the father and mother of all economic empowerments ever witnessed in this country, saying that it was "humongous in scale, far-reaching in coverage, humane in conception, and sustainable in design.

Besides, Comrade Adebayo said it was a demonstration of leadership in its highest form in a country where extreme selfishness dominates the public service space with many politicians involved in a rat race of primitive accumulation, pointing out that Hon. Faleke had proven that there are politicians who put the people first in all that they do.

He noted that seeing those thousands of economic empowerment tools, cars, buses, sewing machines, utility tricycles, motorbikes, grinding machines, and others "being distributed to my people yesterday by someone who represents me at the National Assembly was not only encouraging but also reassuring."

"Irrespective of different political affiliations, when a public official discharges the responsibilities demanded of his office so creditably, he deserves to be acknowledged and encouraged to do more.

The activist, while noting that Faleke had been known for doing empowerment for decades but Monday's event was "unprecedented by any known standards across this country," described such as hope renewed and campaign promises over-delivered.

"He (Faleke) has been known for doing this for decades, but the one witnessed yesterday was unprecedented by any known standards across this country," he said.

"That was hope renewed and campaign promises over-delivered. When they don't do well, we criticise them, but when they deliver in such an outstanding fashion, let's celebrate and encourage them," Adebayo added.
