Amid wave of defections sweeping through the opposition parties, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Oyo State Governor, Engnr Seyi Makinde, on Thursday, said he is comfortable in his party and not planning to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Governor Makinde stated this, while answering questions from State House correspondents, after meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Makinde said he was comfortable in PDP and not planning to join the defection bandwagon.
"I am comfortable in the PDP and again we may have issues in this country where you need a bipartisan approach, where it will not be like APC talking alone, PDP talking alone. Where we will need to look at what is the best foot forward in the interest of our Country. When we get to that junction, we need everybody on board," the governor said.
Aside from Makinde, President Tinubu also met with Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Mutfwang, who recently defected to APC, was the first to arrive at the Presidential Villa at about 3pm.
