Ahead of the 2027 General Elections, youth leaders across the six states of the Southwest region, under the aegis of the Southwest Youth Coalition, have declared their unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, saying the Southwest was a no go area for opposition.
In a powerful show of unity, conviction, and political clarity, the Southwest region has once again reaffirmed its strategic place in Nigeria’s democratic landscape—standing firm as a no-go area for opposition forces.
This fresh bold declaration comes on the heels of a resounding endorsement by the coalition, who had thrown its weight solidly behind President Tinubu.
The historic gathering, organized by the Tinubu Ambode Support Group, a dynamic political movement spearheaded by former Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, served as both a rallying point and a reaffirmation of loyalty to progressive ideals that have long defined the Southwest.
With passion and patriotic zeal, youth leaders across the six states of the region spoke with one voice, declaring unwavering support for Tinubu’s leadership.
The coalition director, Amb. Wale Balogun, praised President Tinubu's courage, vision, and enduring commitment to national development, describing him as a unifying force whose policies continue to inspire hope and progress across Nigeria.
Balogun said that under Tinubu’s leadership, Nigeria was witnessing bold reforms and strategic repositioning, especially in economic revitalization, infrastructural development, and youth empowerment.
According to him, the president’s track record as a former Governor of Lagos State remains a shining example of transformational governance and one that has become a benchmark for excellence nationwide.
In the same vein, the coalition leaders poured encomium on Akinwunmi Ambode, whose quiet but impactful leadership continues to resonate within the political architecture of Lagos and beyond.
As the driving force behind the Tinubu Ambode Support Group, Ambode was lauded for his foresight, organizational strength, and steadfast loyalty to the progressive family.
They described his role in mobilizing grassroots support and fostering unity among stakeholders as both strategic and commendable.
A speaker at the event, Dr. Seyi Bamigbade, emphasized that the Southwest remained the stronghold of progressive politics, anchored on a legacy of visionary leadership, inclusive governance, and people-oriented policies.
Bamigbade warned opposition elements to desist from political distractions in the region, asserting that the people were resolute and unwavering in their support for Tinubu and the ruling party.
Also speaking, one youth leader declared: “This is not just about politics; it is about continuity, stability, and shared prosperity," adding: "The Southwest knows its path and remains committed to leadership that delivers."
